Our top picks for Wedding Venues in Wollongong and the Illawarra sorted into three categories: Beach, Paddock, Function Centre.

We’re really are pretty spoilt in Wollongong and the Illawarra: just enough sun, beautiful beaches, good facilities and an escarpment playground for the adventurous. Those poor country folk in hats drive hours after packing the car with screaming children so that they can spend a week or two in paradise, and we get it every day of the year. Here we go: best wedding venues in Wollongong…

Beach Wedding

As long as you can convince the wind and rain to stay away, a beach ceremony could be unreal. Take your pick of the beaches (with council permission??) and consider stepping into your reception venue without washing the sand from your feet (tread carefully if you’ve chosen East Corrimal’s off-leash area for the ceremony). Look into local surf clubs and beach side hotels to do it your way, or the Novotel or Lagoon for something more swanky.

Paddock.

Green grass, rolling hills, perhaps some grape vines… it’ll bring tears to your eyes even if your hay fever doesn’t. You’ll still pray to innumerable ancient sun gods hoping for a ripper day, but the chances are that you’ll have somewhere dry to eat if they don’t deliver. Think about a marquee in your Uncle Joe’s paddock, Crooked River Winery or an estate like Terara Riverside Gardens.

Function Centre Wedding Wollonong

Just because you’re going indoors doesn’t mean you can’t have a room with a view (it will help to distract from your Uncle Joe’s awkward thumb dance). You’ll probably get what you pay for, and both the setup and price get pretty serious depending on where you’re looking. There’s a range from City Beach and the Golf Club to Villa D’oro and Bush Bank.

Of course, regardless of where you do the deed, don’t forget to book a rocking band like Scissors Paper Rock for your Wollongong wedding. We will guide you through your first dance and get your guests up and moving, so get in touch now!
